The Worst People.
By Areeb Yasir.
It was long ago, in the days of Prophet Mohammad (peace and blessings be upon him), that everyday citizen’s of Islam cared for their fellow brothers and sisters. They took into their homes, fed, and clothed, gave money to the poor and loved one another. Doing what was right, was the main focus of that time, following Allah and doing right.
That time has passed, dead with the ancient people, buried in the sand. We have long forgotten common hospitality, or even proper Islamic manners. Even with all prayers, our trips to the Masjids, our Muslim donations, our dua’s; we are all much closer to the devil than to Allah. How can I say such things? I say it, because it’s true. We have indulged in modern things, and that’s not wrong. But what is wrong, is the fact that we have idolized Prophet Mohammad (peace and blessings be upon him) following him through Hadiths. We blindly follow these stories, thinking that they were all performed by our beloved Prophet. That’s where the damage came from. Everyone is so obsessed in the small details that they have forgotten the bigger picture. Allah. It’s the message in the Quran that our Prophet tried to spread. And we have all turned away from that.
We have sections like Sunnies, Shia’s and Amidiyah’s and the list goes on. They all stress certain things, and so much tension exit between them all. Yet for what? For the small differences? How can it be, that we are so tolerant of non-believers, people who don’t even believe in Allah or Prophet Mohammad (peace and blessings be upon him); yet we can’t stand the different Muslim sections? Did our loved Prophet bring Muslims or a broken Islam? He brought the message, and that was Allah and the Holy book. In the Quran. We still care for the poor. Yes, but do we really care?
