This is the debate that I have been involved in numerous times over the years. I have asked many Imams about this issue and the response is normally the same. The Qur'an is very clear that your repentance is not accepted if it was done intentionally. Repentance is said below in the ayyats from the Qur'an (4:17-4:18) to be accepted if the act was done in ignorance and you repent soon after. Ayyat 18 explains that Allah does not accept repentance from those who continue to do evil deeds. So in otherwords you cannot continue to do evil and repent and continue on with the same actions. ...
