Palestinian supporters

The crowd, huddled beneath umbrellas braving a cold and snowy day, broke into chant after chant.  The speakers seem to be especially passionate on this day as attacks in the region escalate.

"Israel is not defending themselves, Israel is the aggressor.  Israel is attacking the Palestinian people.  Israel is the one who started launching missiles into Palestinian territories."

One of the organizers says he hopes Canadians will act.

"We need to pressure our government to boycott Israel.  We are raising awareness.  We try to tell our politicians, we try to tell Stephen Harper, we are trying to tell Michael Ignatieff that Israel is the cause of the aggression in Palestine.  Israel is committing war crimes in Palestine."

Organizers say as long as the death toll rises and the supplies getting into the Gaza strip decline, they have to continue pushing their message.  Other rallies were held country wide.
